Novek Posted yesterday at 12:23 PM Posted yesterday at 12:23 PM My Windows Vista & XP installs have a odd issue with DirectX On Vista, Programs WinSAT & Dreamscene keep crashing due to dll d3d9.dll On Windows XP the only issue I've had is with camtasia studio but i can turn off DirectX accelerations and it works fine I've tried swapping out the ATI card that came with my computer for the NVIDIA one but still same error On Windows 7 & up this doesn't happen
TSNH Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Is directx_Jun2010_redist installed? Windows 7 doesn't use dx9 on desktop (maybe Camtasia uses dx11 on Win7 too), check if directX9 works there with any directX 9 game, look up games you happen to have on pcgamingwiki

TSNH Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) For dreamscene try installing K-Lite Codec Pack 16.6.5 (I believe someone reported some issues with a later version) Edit, this post: https://msfn.org/board/topic/175262-last-versions-of-software-for-windows-vista-and-windows-server-2008/page/66/#comment-1214028 Is explorer.exe still crashing, if not I think it's Camtasia's own problems at this point Edited 2 hours ago by TSNH
Novek Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago i uninstalled camtasia and installed the codec pack but explorer is still crashing when i try to set a dreamscene
