Windows Vista - WiFi networks show up, can't connect though + Another issue

Featured Replies

Networks show, but I can't connect

I also get a error of "802.11 connection failed to due to unknown reason" and Ping error -1231.

Any fixes? I'm using a Realtek wifi dongle.

The networks show but I can't connect due to an "unknown" error.

Maybe you are dealing with non compatible drivers, you could try downloading Driver Booster (Free version) or Snappy Driver Installer (the one on the right, the lite version) and automatically update the drivers, maybe the issue is related to the dongle configuration, you can change it from device manager under the network section or maybe USB devices, try different settings or ask me for advice on what to change, otherwise maybe the dongle is not compatible with Windows Vista, in that case you are out of luck.
