Ben.Hahlen Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 Hey guys,I've profited a lot from this forum in making my unattended XP-CD.But I still have one issue that I can't seem to resolve. Here is the problem:In my winnt.sif I have:[userData] ProductID=* FullName="Ben" OrgName="" ComputerName="Ben001"But when I completed my install in VPC, my computername is:ben-d102atjy4a6Does anyone maybe have a solution for this?I'm using GuiRunOnceEx and cmdlines.txt.Thanks in advance,Ben
Ben.Hahlen Posted April 27, 2004 Author Posted April 27, 2004 Have you tried it without the quotes?Yes I did, same problem, gonna check now just to be sure...
Readiosys Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 Check that it is not already the name of your actual workstation (not the virtual machine).Computer names must be unique across the network. When you run the virtual machine, Windows setup sees that there is already a "Ben001" machine on the network and thus changes the machine name.It is the only explanation I see...Try installing your unattended cd for real (not on the VM) and you should see there are no problems.
