Supported GPUs:

WIP (Work in progress)

Intel GPUs:

  • Intel GMA 950 (Desktop: 945GC, 945GZ, 945G; Mobile: 945 Family) or newer, last Intel GPU to support 8.x is Intel HD 5xx series (Skylake; Desktop and Mobile).
  • Newer Intel GPUs up to UHD 630 (Comet Lake; Desktop and Mobile) can be also made to work with 8.x, albeit not officially supported by Intel.

ATI/AMD GPUs:

  • ATI Radeon 9500 or later; last AMD GPU to support 8.0 is AMD RX 4xx series and 16.7.3 driver, and last AMD GPU to support 8.1 without any issues is AMD RX 5xx series and 17.7.1 driver officially, and 22.6.1 driver unofficially.
  • AMD Radeon RX Vega up to RX 6xxx series will also work with 8.1 with 22.6.1 driver unofficially, but it have issues with DXGI flip (it just gives black screen, mainly seen on newer Unity games) and Discord/YouTube (driver crashes when trying to play some videos with hardware acceleration enabled)

NVIDIA GPUs:

  • NVIDIA GeForce FX 5100 and later
  • NVIDIA GeForce 8 series to GeForce 300 series
  • NVIDIA GeForce 400 series and later; last NVIDIA GPU to officially support 8/8.1 was the GTX 1080 Ti along with driver version 474.44 (474.11 is the latest version signed for 8.x).
  • The Windows 7 version of 474.11/44 driver will also work on NVIDIA GeForce GTX 16xx and RTX 2xxx series without any modifications.
  • But NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3xxx series need this modded+signed 474.44 driver (it will also work for RTX 2xxx and older): https://mega.nz/file/fNFlETrA#ZpYUZ35qQfgkyXY7A9-s_QNo2pb5Skrv5RBMeP7dB9Y

  • Download Elgato HD 60 S Capture Card drivers here - to install, extract the exe with 7-ZIP and manually install the drivers in Device Manager (thanks again to GTAGAME for pointing this out).

So GPUs would be up to 2000 series stock, up to 3000 series modded. AMD works up to 6000 series, but they're jank. Actual properly would be probably up to RX 5xx or maybe Radeon VII or Vega 64 maybe.

Everything else should just work. I've not encountered hardware that works on 10 but not 8.1.

How could this be done? I can't find a way to get this working. Using a Pentium Gold CPU with Intel UHD 630 here. Any recommendations?

Try this driver: https://dl.driverpack.io/driverpacks/repack/Video_Intel-NT/Intel/FORCED/6Xx64/HD600_21.20.16.5077/Intel-FORCED-6Xx64-HD600_21.20.16.5077-drp.zip P.S. it must be installed with driver signature enforcement disabled due to the inf file being modded, but the sys file is signed, so, you don't need to boot with driver signature enforcement disabled

Thanks for your reply, that driver didn't work for me though. I managed to get a beta driver, provided by Biostar, working on my system after adding my device to the .INF file.
