Need a browser for XP that can handle github text editor/discussions

Need a browser for XP that can handle the github text editor - for when posting messages to discussions. The typing text in the box works, but I'm unable to select a "Category". The list drops down but you can't click on anything and have it be accepted. Also, signing-out doesn't work either. And none of the Bold/Italic/Underline buttons work either. I was trying to start a new discussion at https://github.com/Stellarium/stellarium/discussions

Presently using WinXP and have tried PaleMoon, NewMoon, Basilisk, and Serpent (22.08.05). They all appear to behave like FireFox 52.9.0 ESR.

Is that a realistic thing to expect? And over the years I've only use FireFox, so this world of modernized browsers with backported features to be used on a deprecated OS is still a new thing to me.
