ove.a Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 When windows xp is copying files from the cdrom, it stops at two points, telling me that Nikedrv.sys and mdwmdmsp.dll cannot be copied. I've had this message before, but then it worked nevertheless. Now I've tried to make an unattended install with sp1a and the rollup package slipstreamed. The cd also contains norton antivirus 2004 and the autopatcher 4.5, but I don't think the error lies with the two latter components. And now after the copying, when the machine has rebooted, it enters setup, and bang! the following message pops up:Setup Failed To Install The Product Catalogs.Detailed Info Button:The Signature for Windows XP is invalid.Error Code 800b0100Does anyone have a clue about what's going on?
[BM]Crusher Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 start your cd again from scratch! you should never have file copy errors... corrupt ISO? faulty CDROM? dying RAM? old HDD?
ove.a Posted April 24, 2004 Author Posted April 24, 2004 I'm using Vmware to test the cd (iso file) I get the file copying error every time i try to slipstrem sp1a and rollup 1 on a xp cd. if i don't add anything else than that windows get installed, but i do get the copying error with the two files mentioned above.I forgot to say something in the above post:I've also removed some of the windows components with some of Jdeboeck's batch files.
