August 29, 20205 yr Hello everyone, I've recently regained interest in windows 2000 and wanted to get modern software running on it however I ran into a roadblock while trying to install kernelex. While attempting to install updates from the update center I would get an error on the site. I did enable TLS 1.0 and installed the latest windows update version to the OS Any ideas on what I could do? I've heard rumors that microsoft recently did something that screwed over windows update for older versions of windows.
August 30, 20205 yr Yes, update servers are gone. I have a blank white screen on Windows Update. What problems are you facing with Kernelex?
September 6, 20205 yr afaik they changed the SHA-1 with SHA-2 so all updates are broken for windows 2k up to 7
September 24, 20205 yr You should be able to get fully up to date using this guide: https://w2k.phreaknet.org/guide I don't rely on Windows Update live downloading to patch older OSes.
