gosh Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 well make sure your admin account has a password. It sounds like you've been screwing with policies. Go through secpol.msc and make sure everything is correct.-gosh

strawberry Posted April 19, 2004 Author Posted April 19, 2004 Gosh? may i ask you i you know the security entries that i have to change so that anonymous browsing is allowed, even just broswing without pass...i paste here the secsetup.inf file i found in aonther post , after installing (during xpsetup ) this security rule everything seems fine----------------------------------------------------------------------[unicode]Unicode=yes[system Access]MinimumPasswordAge = 0MaximumPasswordAge = 42MinimumPasswordLength = 6PasswordComplexity = 0PasswordHistorySize = 0LockoutBadCount = 5ResetLockoutCount = 5LockoutDuration = 5RequireLogonToChangePassword = 0ClearTextPassword = 0LSAAnonymousNameLookup = 0EnableGuestAccount = 1[Event Audit]AuditSystemEvents = 0AuditLogonEvents = 0AuditObjectAccess = 0AuditPrivilegeUse = 0AuditPolicyChange = 0AuditAccountManage = 0AuditProcessTracking = 0AuditAccountLogon = 0[Privilege Rights]sedenynetworklogonright =sedenyremoteinteractivelogonright = Guest[Registry Values]machine\system\currentcontrolset\control\lsa\forceguest=4,0[Version]signature="$CHICAGO$"Revision=1[Profile Description]Description=Enabled network access for guest account to browse shares without asking user to authenticate----------------------------------------------------------------------------------but it's kind of a mess in security rules of SECPOL.msc for a newbie
