Display Problem with XP

I'm having problems with Windows XP. Every time I restart the computer the display area reappears small. I change the size back to 1024 x 768 every time, but then if I restart it comes back small. Its getting annoying having to resize the desktop every time I restart. Any ideas?

Also I can't for the life of me figure out how to get my Welcome Screen and Fast Switching to work. I check the boxes in the User Accounts window and it still doesn't work. I just goes to the old Windows 95 style login.

Sounds like a display driver issue. I recommend updating the drivers of your graphics card.
