October 10, 201411 yr after installing 10 to a separate hd it boots up and runs. But if I try booting 7 I get an error the digital sig of winload.efi can't be verified. anyone else tried dual booting? I was curious how it was with real hardware. thanks JBM
October 12, 201411 yr Author I reinstalled so that my computer booted in BIOS modeinstead of UEFI. Both 7 and 10 are runningNow to see what 10 offers. So far I think I'll keep 7 JBM
October 13, 201411 yr Yeah, it wasn't until I read somewhere that you had to turn off UEFI booting, that I was able to proceed with the TP installation. You can turn UEFI booting back on afterward, without problems, if that's important to you. --JorgeA
October 14, 201411 yr Author Thanks for your help. When I disabled UEFI boot windows 7 would not boot at all.Kept getting a message saying it wasn't configured correctly.so I ended up installing 7 again then 10 TP Don"t have a drive larger than 2TB so really no diff.
November 1, 201411 yr There are some benefits using UEFI boot.At least it is faster compared to BIOS boot (for Window 7 you have to disable Secure boot so it will not be safer).GPT style disks do not have the limitation of 4 primary partitions ! Most OS now support UEFI boot - for example Ubuntu if you want to try a Linux version (dual-boot with Windows).
