ROTS Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 (edited) A think I notice in Vista, even with indexing off, is the bar ( the search bar ) basically have a grey thing loading, and loading and loading. Sometimes the computer looks like it is frozen. Usually this only happens, when I load into a new external, or slow secondary drive. I just want to be able to browse my files and folders, without Vista loading, scanning, etc or whatever that process is called. Every-time I open a new folder this process is ready to start. You might see it, does it job, really fast, from time to time, I assume this is part of the search and categorizing function. WIndows 98 does not have this function at all. When this occur, and attached device, like the scanning drive, might disconnect or disappear. I don't really care about this problem. I just do not want to see that grey bar, scanning unless I am doing a search. Edited April 23, 2014 by ROTS
