Lakshmi Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 Hello, I have upgraded the Operating System from Win 98 to Win 2kProfessional Edition. In Dial-Up-Networking when trying to connect tothe internet, it is giving the problem the Modem had not beendetected and device driver not installed. In win 98, there was no problem in detecting the modem .After upgrading only, it is giving the problem. Please suggest me a solution for it. Regards,-Lakshmi.
XtremeMaC Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 if u know the manufacturer and the model of the modem go to manufacturer's website and download the 2000 drivers.
LiquidSage Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 1.you can also try to uninstall the modem driver, then reinstall if it has a yellow ! in dev. manager.2. try to reinstall the driver from an xp cd3. swap the modem into a different pci slot. If onboard, disable in bios, start windws and then restart with modem bios enabled.4. Check for phatom devices in device manager and uninstall them if they are present.upgrading win9x to win2k never seems to go smoothly....the two freeware programs on this page will be very helpful to identify, download, backup, and resolve driver type issues. i highly recommend keeping these little gems somewhere safe
