slipstreamed xp hangs on eula

installme

Recommended Posts

I created a slipstreamed XP DVD installation disk with SP3 and SATA drivers with nlite. When I try to install, the installation hangs on the EULA agreement page. I can page up or down and escape without difficulty but machine does not accept F8 "acceptance" key. Can't figure out how to get around this. XP was actually loaded and working on this machine but I did it with the original XP installation disk (same disk I made the slipstream copy from) and had to then do the countless service updates and it is a SATA machine so to boot it in XP i had to switch to native IDE everytime (from SATA for Win 7). I made some fatal error trying to load the correct SATA drivers after the fact and had to reinstall Win 7 and XP so thought I would try a slipstreamed XP with the service packs and CORRECT drivers this time...got the hang on the EULA. Any help appreciated.

Maybe your F8 key is broken? nLite has an unattended feature. If you use it, it will skip the EULA.

Thanks -X-,

I guess that was sort of like not checking to see if the computer is plugged in right? You hit it on the nose. New keyboard has an F lock function and it was not locked, therefore no function key capacity. One hurdle down, I see a new error message now so I may be back soon. But you solved my hang on EULA screen problem. Thanks again!
