Maleko Posted December 28, 2011 Share Posted December 28, 2011 Recently got a Transcend USB 3 controller card.Installed in the motherboard fine, attached the Molex Power Lead.Every time I boot my computer the controller fails with 'Power Surge on Hub Port'Driver version is 2.1.29.0Firmware of the controller is 4015.Installing on an ASUS P5Q-E under Windows 7 x64Any ideas??? Maleko Posted December 28, 2011 Author Share Posted December 28, 2011 Ok, fixed it!It could have been one of the two:I reseated the card, and also gave it power directly from the PSU via a new cable - before it was connected to a molex that was also powering other devices.I'm going to say it was the power cable, giving it a direct feed with no other devices running off it.
