So i installed ie6 sp1 and tried updates and it did the same thing it was doing in ie 5. it reloads the updates page non stop at lighting speed cycling between the pages so fast it can't actually do any thing, just cycling between urls witch is the windows update home page.

This only gets me so far one of the updates failed with a 404 error, not sure if this will prevent further updates.

so it ran out of updates after 30 some. it could be it's just not possible to get updates from ms any more in witch case were screwed cause those unoffical services packs are less than worthless.

update so with kenrel ex installed any version of compatibility before 2k does the same thing if set compatibly to 2k it brings up update home but, seems to be stalling and if i set it to xp it brings a knowledge base about the os being to old to use windows updates. also the problem doesn't exist because of kernel ex because i didn't install kernel ex until after experiencing the problem.
