psikobare Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Hello everyonei have come here in the hope you could help me, since you seem to know quite well the thingi am currently using XP pro x86, and decided it's quite time for me to move forwardat first i wanted to wait for SP1, so i'm sure the product is stable and everything, but it seems seven SP1 will just be a big update package (a long time ago MS talked about the use of the virtualization thingy without the need of a state of the art processor, didn't they? i wonder what happen to that)Since i have a few holidays, i decided i would use that time to prepare thisi naturally went to build a custom seven from my own seven DVDi tried both rt7lite and 7customizer but the thing is.... you can only run it on seven...... oh the sweet irony :'( (yeah i know, you can run it on vista, but for the sake of the joke, i omitted this)So here i am askingis there a way to create a custom DVD of seven 64bits from XP 32bits??what i have:my windows 7 pro x64 from msdnaaa computer with win xp pro x86what i want to do:automatized installation (cdkey,etc...)integrating updates(!)integrating some driversinstall from USBmaybe tweaking some stuff, removing useless s***sautomatized installation of some software? (i'm thinking kaspersky so i can then download everything i need, but if i have to install it by myself from a folder on the pendrive, it probably won't kill me)my second question, can i use the MS seven USB DVD tool to make a bootable seven from the iso i will generate with a customizer software, or will it f*** things up?cheers
Kelsenellenelvian Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 (edited) Not a snowballs chance in hell...To clarify:The 64 os commonly cannot be mounted and customized on a 32 bit OS.Not only that but the tools we all use nowadays are relying on components built into win7 (+ vista ofcourse but I am skipping that joke too) Edited January 31, 2011 by Kelsenellenelvian
maxXPsoft Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Probably best bet is install 7 temporarily without activating and you will have 30 day's to customize an installation dvd.Use product.ini in dvd\sources folder and it lists temp keys
