Can you recommend me an a good enclosure with fast eSATA?

Will it work without any enclosures?

Question no.3, The way off question, Will I be able to put my 500GB HDD in place of the optical drive?

My laptop is HP dv7tqe (specifically HP DV7-4270us,) it's optical drive is 9.5" AFAIK. Will I be able to get the 500GB HDD work in it's place (assuming it's also 9.5")?
