snake314 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Happy new year everyone!!I got a problem, I use an unintended copy of winxp proSP2 . To get up to date I put SP3 on it. The sp3 package is good, without error or anything(the same I have use to update with winupdate).I think the problem is that the original copy to put sp3, already got modification that don't need those file. So when I put SP3 he put back those file request as a normal copy should have...My question (finally!) What should I check to remove those missing request file that he want to copy, is there a list in a file or something? To be certain I will do a test, to skip all those file and see if all work well, i will be back later to say if everything is ok!thank a lot!Jeremi
Sp0iLedBrAt Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 What kind of modification are we talking about? Slipstreaming SP3 will only work on a clean copy of XP. What kind of CD do you have?Cheers
snake314 Posted January 5, 2011 Author Posted January 5, 2011 It is a modified one... so some file are missing from the original cd to get a customise copy. But I wanted to had SP3 and other hotfix and it call missing file on installation. Those missing file had no repercution on the previous install, but SP3 recall tell by default I think, so on the copy file Step of the installation, he try to copy them... What I want is to know where is the listing of the file to copy, so I can delete the missing file name so no more error prompt. I've install a copy by clicking esc at every file missing advise and it work fine. Thanks
snake314 Posted January 5, 2011 Author Posted January 5, 2011 I love you thank you! that what I was searching!!
