HoppaLong
I've never understood why your printer properites are buried. This tabbed window shouldn't even have the "properties" title. It's the primary app for the printer because it contains all yoursettings and maintanence procedures. Image installing a pdfreader or word processing app and being forced to access themain screen through "properties" on the Context Menu. A directshortcut should be provided on the Start Menu when you installthe printer software. For XP or Vista here are a couple of command lines that usually work:rundll32.exe PRINTUI.DLL,PrintUIEntry /p /n "Your printers name"orrundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /p /n\\machine\printerIf you're running 98SE it's easy enough to download printui.dll andput it in your windows/system directory. The above commandsstill won't work because a dialog box appears about missinglibraries. Is there a command that will work in 98SE? If not, maybe someonehas created an applet or batch file that will do the job. Edited January 2, 2011 by HoppaLong
