Importing Backed Up Reg File On Windows 98

I backed up my complete registry file and renamed it in case I needed to restore it, my question is if I were for any reason required to import the reg file that I have backed up, will that override the previous entries and not cause a duplication of entries, or is that not possible.

I would say the best way to restore the entire registry is in pure DOS, from outside Windows.

Read in the 'Revolutions Pack 9.6' thread post #527 and post #528 for some examples.
