TehCrab
Hi all,Have recently setup a new server here at work running Windows Server 2008 R2 (64bit), everything is going swimmingly well; however I cannot for the life of me get my Hard Drives (not important and storage only - access when needed) to 'spin down' with the "Turn off Hard Drive after" option in Power Options.I have tried a number of intervals from 'One hour' to 'Fifteen Minutes' with no success, the Hard Drives remain on no matter what. I have NO programs currently option, and it is simply sitting on the Desktop. Is there some sort of service that is constantly triggering my Hard Drives to remain on? Something that needs to be disabled (a service or policy perhaps)?Cheers,Teh_Crab
patronu
what motherboard do you have? more importantly to what raid controller the hard drivers are connected?
allen2
Most likely, some services must have handle on it so it won't be powered down.
