GVTorTrek Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Hi - I feel a bit bad about posting this, but it'll be nagging at me if I don't. I uploaded the nlite executable to VirusTotal.com just now, and it returned 40 clean reports, but one 'hit' for an anti-virus product called eSafe:Win32.TrojanC2Lop.dNow, given the clean bill from each of the other vendors, this looks pretty suspect, but I'd feel better about it if someone could verify that this is a false positive. I'm not sure how anyone would be empowered to do that, though - if the source isn't available for scrutiny... perhaps I should contact the eSafe people?
Guest Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 (edited) If you downloaded nLite from the official site then you should consider contacting eSafe.I can't vouch for the code, but I can vouch for nuhi. He's not known for including malicious code in any version of nLite I've ever downloaded and used—and I've been here a while. Edited August 16, 2010 by 5eraph
GVTorTrek Posted August 16, 2010 Author Posted August 16, 2010 5eraph, thanks very much for replying - it was a download from the official site, I'll get in touch with eSafe and see what they have to say for themselves. Appreciate your help.
