tb582 Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I currently have a homegroup setup and if my computer is asleep no one else in the homegroup can access the files that I've shared. Is there a way to automatically wake upon someone trying to access my files?

cluberti Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 If your system has Wake On Lan (WOL) capabilities, you can enable it in the BIOS - this keeps the NIC "listening" for a specific packet, and if received, will wake up. However, you may have to do some additional configuration in Windows to get it working.
