Windows XP and Scanjet 2100C

I have the Scanjet 2100C that came with the XP Pro Bundle I purchase. It has worked great with XP using its built in Wizard but the software that came with it, HP PrecisionScan LTX is not compatible. They have come out with version 1.11. I installed it which is another story, but it appeared to be a nice program. It included Scan to Web which allowed you to scan pictures to a Web site for sharing pictures, and it included OCR which appeared to work very well. The Bad News is you lose all your XP ability using its wizards for controlling the scanner and I found out last night it also messes up your communications to CDRWs. I was able to burn a CD but was unable to read various ones. I uninstalled the PrecisionScan software and deleted the Scanner from Device Manager to get my XP ability back. I also was able to read the CDs again. I guess it time to wait for the next update from HP.

I didn't exactly where to put it but I didn't want to stay quiet about it if someone else thought about downloading the upgrade.
