I use the dell and lenovo image that comes with the computers and then you don't need a key.I just wonder if I use the MAK key in the unattend file for the oem image - is it then going to use the oem license anyway?
cluberti Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 The OEM SLIC license that activates from the BIOS is included in the image that ships with those machines. If you make a new image, it won't contain the SLIC license and thus won't auto-activate. If you have MAK keys from a VL or SA agreement from Microsoft, you shouldn't be using the OEM licenses anyway (they're required to be legal with your SA VL licenses, but they're not to be used to activate machines - your VL MAK keys are). However, if you're just looking to activate the OEM licenses on machines you don't plan on using your MAKs for, there are ways to get the activation backed up - search the forums, it's here.
grabben Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Possible to integrate keys directly to edition if you want.

I just wondering. Then I should use another unattend file for the oem images that I have on my wds server. It had been easier with using the same unattend file as the other images but then the problem is that I have my MAK key in that unattend file.
