Hello.

I was wondering if anyone would know of a good starting point concerning what could be removed from XP, with the exception of components needed for gaming.

This would be for emulators, source ports, and somewhat older Windows games (pre-2003).

Obviously, DirectX and possibly the OpenGL drivers would need to stay, but what non-essential processes could I get rid of to increase XP's system performance? What typical processes/utilities running by default in the background could I eliminate to increase available RAM, processor time, HD reading/writing speed, etc.?

Has anyone done something like this before? I don't need the e-mail, internet, documents, or pretty much any programs not related to gaming...
