Rick Posted March 9, 2002 Posted March 9, 2002 I was messing around the other day and installed bootvis and startup_cpl and when I booted back up...my wife's user name had been totally cleaned out. Now when you click on her name, it takes like 3 minutes for it to boot and when it does, it is like she has never used that name. Anybody have this happen to them? Any solutions? Rick:rolleyes:
sedative Posted March 9, 2002 Posted March 9, 2002 something like this happened to me before. go look in c:documents and settings and see if there's a folder named TEMP. if so, that means that your wife's profile is probably corrupted. all you can do is copy some of her things to another folder. such as: favorites, desktop links, start menu, etc. once you do that, login under your account, delete hers, delete temp, and recreate an account for her. then of course paste all of the stuff you saved into the new account. some things won't be the same like her visual settings and whatnot. hope this helps.
Rick Posted March 10, 2002 Author Posted March 10, 2002 Thanks man! That's helps out a whole lot. Just as long as I keep her favorites and desktop stuff....I can put her wallpaper back up and set her .net up again. Thanks dude!Rick:cool:
