Redsheep Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Apologies if this is not in the right forum....We currently use Shavlik HFNETCHK to do our patching. When this downloads the updtaes/patches it does NOT include the KB article number anywehre, it only has the MS number (eg MS08-003). We are soon going to be using a different product where we can only select updates with the KB number. We have a basebuild in Shavlik which I need to replicate in the new system. Does anyone know where I can obtina a list of all MS bulletins since around 2004 that lists all the KB's for each bulletin?I've tried contacting Microsoft but the people I have speoken to have been unable to help. The only way I can see to do this at the moment is to look at each Ms vulleting individually.Thank you.
Guest Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 (edited) Assuming that you're using XP SP3, member -X- links to a list that can be used to download the current high priority updates. I can't vouch for the accuracy of the list; I don't use it myself. If you want lists of all updates for any given Microsoft operating system, including QFE updates (hotfixes), then you may be interested in http://kbupdate.info/. That first link is useful to an extent. We have several different types of server and use several version of Office. Often MS articles will have multiple KB's. Eg an update for office will have different KB for each version of office. Ideally I need a list of all MS bulletin's with a list of all the KB's applying to each bulletin. I konw I can get the info from each bulletin individually but that would be quite time consuming.Thank you.
cluberti Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Seems like you might want to consider WSUS, for both a new patching system (it's free) and the fact that it gives lists of all patches, KB numbers, and tracks the installation on all reporting machines. If you're looking for just a list of all updates that apply to all machines with variants for each version of a particular product, I don't think you'll find one that meets your rather stringent goals.
