nLite created disc won't see hard drives on installation

I'm trying to create an unattended installation of windows xp.

I'm starting with a Windows XP SP2 disc, nLite rips the disc just fine. I slipstreamed in SP3, tweaked the component and registry settings to slim it down a bit, and entered in all the configuration information to automate the installation process. I created the bootable iso, and burned it to disc, everything seemed to be going just fine.

When I boot to it, it starts loading the drivers like everything's okay, and then it halts saying that Setup cannot find a hard disk drive, and my only option is to quit.

After some Googling, I downloaded the chipset and storage controller drivers, extracted them, and added them into the image for the install. Everything went by-the-book, no error messages or warnings. Created my disc, booted to it, and the same thing happened.

Every time I try and use a disc burned from an iso file that nLite created, I get the same thing, hard disk drive cannot be found.

Any ideas anybody?

Thanks!

jervatron, did you see the red message at the top? Without the Last Session we are hard pressed to guess. However, my guess is that you did not include a text mode driver for your SATA/RAID HDD. Enjoy, John

@ jervatron:

Welcome at MSFN Forums!

The only driver you have to load/integrate is the suitable textmode driver for the SATA AHCI or SATA RAUID Controller, where your SATA hdd is connected.

Which "Storage Controller" driver did you integrate and how did you do it?
