Black screen before login?

Recently i've been getting a black screen before the windows login screen? It never happend before so there has to be something wrong. Is anyone else having this problem? How can i fix this problem.

We've had this issue from time to time. Some say it is down to a particular update. There is a patch you can download if you search for it, and we've have had limited success. Not seen it recently, maybe a later update has corrected this?

Could be a driver freezing the system. You can enable boot logging from the F8 startup menu. See if the issue happens in safe mode, that would prove it.
