It should be, usually Win2000 IE 6.0 SP1 cumulative patches work properly with 98/ME OSes.

I just haven't had enough spare time to create a 98/98SE/ME fix yet. :(

Maximus-Decim should have a MDIE6CU update soon, just watch his thread:

Thanks for the prompt reply...you answered my next question regarding whether or not this should be included in a cumulative update.

As discussed in another thread which I can't recall right off, you can manually implement the update by extracting and copying the following 17 files from the Win2000 IE 6.0 SP1 cumulative security update into \Windows\System. My systems are dual boot but you should be able to do it from DOS.

Browseui.dll

cdfview.dll

Danim.dll

Dxtmsft.dll

Dxtrans.dll

Iepeers.dll

Inseng.dll

Jsproxy.dll

Mshtml.dll

Msrating.dll

Mstime.dll

pngfilt.dll

Shdocvw.dll

Shlwapi.dll

Urlmon.dll

Wininet.dll

Tdc.ocx

I just extracted files and replaced on my friend's PC...I have an issue:

Every time I'd try to post in this forum, I'd be sent back to the forums front page. Had to do this in Firefox. Going through and resetting many IE settings to default helped (reduced frequency) but did not completely eliminate.

Should I be seeing "Administrator Approved", on Win98 in this box?

Steven W,

I have exactly the same settings ...and no problem to post.

You may had added "msfn.org" in a restricted zone involuntarily.

Make a search for the string msfn.org in the registry (there is several possible places).

Maximus Decim has a patch available:

http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=905305

I see he included an uninstall for *978207.

@MDGx, I know you'll put this on your site. Would you please still keep the old one too? I have a feeling I ***may*** need it to solve my issue.

Aaah, shuks! I've already uploaded MD's new patch over the old one. :(

Sorry, didn't realize some1 might need it.

Hopefully the old RS links still work, ortherwise ask MD to send you the 1 you want...

Not sure I'll need it, can get the files other ways. Thanks anyway.
