CharlotteTheHarlot Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 While working on a problem in Opera unrelated to MSFN, I had reason to enable its error logging feature. Here is an example found in the log of something it flags as an error:--- 03 Jan 2010 02:13:50 ---http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?Inline script threadError:name: ReferenceErrormessage: Statement on line 2: Undefined variable: _gatstacktrace: n/a; see opera:config#UserPrefs|Exceptions Have StacktraceThe thing that pops up over and over is that item Undefined variable: _gat. Means nothing to me, maybe it does to the administrators? I should note that I see entries from other websites mentioning variables as well (e.g., urchinTracker). Also it seems that the log reflects the currently focused webpage. Here are the last few entries right from the log while I have been here at MSFN:--- 03 Jan 2010 02:19:15 ---http://www.msfn.org/board/win9x-tools-real...rs-t140830.htmlInline script threadError:name: ReferenceErrormessage: Statement on line 2: Undefined variable: _gatstacktrace: n/a; see opera:config#UserPrefs|Exceptions Have Stacktrace--- 03 Jan 2010 02:19:25 ---http://www.msfn.org/board/add-reply-f8-t140830.htmlInline script threadError:name: ReferenceErrormessage: Statement on line 2: Undefined variable: _gatstacktrace: n/a; see opera:config#UserPrefs|Exceptions Have Stacktrace--- 03 Jan 2010 02:19:52 ---http://www.msfn.org/board/win9x-tools-real...pid-900998.htmlInline script threadError:name: ReferenceErrormessage: Statement on line 2: Undefined variable: _gatstacktrace: n/a; see opera:config#UserPrefs|Exceptions Have Stacktrace--- 03 Jan 2010 02:20:17 ---http://www.msfn.org/board/add-reply-f8-t137637.htmlInline script threadError:name: ReferenceErrormessage: Statement on line 2: Undefined variable: _gatstacktrace: n/a; see opera:config#UserPrefs|Exceptions Have Stacktrace--- 03 Jan 2010 02:32:36 ---http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?Inline script threadError:name: ReferenceErrormessage: Statement on line 2: Undefined variable: _gatstacktrace: n/a; see opera:config#UserPrefs|Exceptions Have Stacktrace--- 03 Jan 2010 02:33:05 ---http://www.msfn.org/board/forum.htmlInline script threadError:name: ReferenceErrormessage: Statement on line 2: Undefined variable: _gatstacktrace: n/a; see opera:config#UserPrefs|Exceptions Have Stacktrace--- 03 Jan 2010 02:51:36 ---http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?Inline script threadError:name: ReferenceErrormessage: Statement on line 2: Undefined variable: _gatstacktrace: n/a; see opera:config#UserPrefs|Exceptions Have Stacktrace--- 03 Jan 2010 02:54:15 ---http://www.msfn.org/board/opera-10-t137637-pid-901001.htmlInline script threadError:name: ReferenceErrormessage: Statement on line 2: Undefined variable: _gatstacktrace: n/a; see opera:config#UserPrefs|Exceptions Have Stacktrace--- 03 Jan 2010 02:54:42 ---http://www.msfn.org/board/site-forum-issues-f23.htmlInline script threadError:name: ReferenceErrormessage: Statement on line 2: Undefined variable: _gatstacktrace: n/a; see opera:config#UserPrefs|Exceptions Have Stacktrace--- 03 Jan 2010 02:55:07 ---http://www.msfn.org/board/create-new-post-...issues-f23.htmlInline script threadError:name: ReferenceErrormessage: Statement on line 2: Undefined variable: _gatstacktrace: n/a; see opera:config#UserPrefs|Exceptions Have StacktraceI'm pretty sure that last line of each entry is stating that I have Javascript debugging disabled or something. Does anyone enable that? And would it reduce or increase these error entries?Just thought I would bring this to your attention.
CoffeeFiend Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Have you blocked the Google Analytics script by any chance (or set the domain to an invalid IP in your hosts file or something)? That would cause such errors in any browser.Works fine over here (not using Opera though! )
CharlotteTheHarlot Posted January 3, 2010 Author Posted January 3, 2010 Let me see, as far as script related settings:I have all of these disabled ...0 Allow resizing of windows0 Allow moving of windows0 Allow raising of windows0 Allow lowering of windows0 Allow changing of status field0 Allow scripts to detect context menu events0 Allow script to hide address bar0 Open Console on errorI have no user.js scripting enabled.I do see this re-routed in HOSTS ...127.0.0.1 ssl.google-analytics.comI just re-enabled it (commented it out) ...# 127.0.0.1 ssl.google-analytics.comWell that wasn't it. CoffeeFiend Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 127.0.0.1 ssl.google-analytics.comThat's another address it uses. You often have to do a ipconfig /flushdns for these changes to take effect.
