December 14, 200916 yr Hello there, I have tried to download the windows updates published so far to prepare my version of windows, but I haven't been able to find them: on the download centre, all I see are pre-beta updates.Could you tell me where I can find the updates for windows 7, elsewhere than on the windows update website?ThanksGilou
December 14, 200916 yr Author Right now, I am under win XP.Is that why I cannot find the updates on the microsoft download centre (which is not the windows update site)? Is there any loophole?
December 14, 200916 yr Search microsoft.com with the KB numbers for each update you want to download, then manually download each one. I'm not sure you can do it from XP because some of the updates require you to run the GenuineCheck tool in order to get them. No idea if codes returned from XP will work for grabbing Win7 updates.I did this from Win7 for the same purpose and didn't have any problems.
December 14, 200916 yr You need access to the Win7 machine.open Windows Update > View Update HistoryIt's all listed there.
December 14, 200916 yr You could consider using a tool such as Windows Updates Downloader, which was written by our own jcarle. There is a Win7 update list hosted here on MSFN for it as well.
December 15, 200916 yr URL REMOVED you'll find restricted hotfixes not deployed through the update system. Edited December 15, 200916 yr by cluberti Linkinng to files redistributed and not on Microsoft's site. Microsoft does not allow redistribution of any of their files, including updates. Violation of rule 1b.
December 15, 200916 yr There's currently no Win7 update lists for it though.Read my post fully - I linked to a UL created by MrJinJe in the WUD section of these forums.
