ldb Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 I have a small program that I used to use when I had Windows 98. I downloaded the newest version that is compatible with Windows XP. I can get the program to open just fine if I run the exe or the shortcut to it. If however I have the shortcut in the startup group it does not load the program. I also set the program up as a task and that did not work either. I have tried all different levels of compatibility and nothing will let it load up when I startup. Also is there anyway to disable the UAC for specific programs as I do not want to disable it altogether.Thabks
cluberti Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 The only way to disable UAC for a program is to go into the shortcut that launches the application's properties, go to the compatibility tab, and check "run as administrator".

cluberti Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 guoqiang, did you not read the post? It said, and I quote, "I do not want to disable it altogether". What you've suggested is just that.
