defaultPlayer
I searched the forums but I could not find anything that pointed me in the right direction. My issue is that the speaker setup keeps defaulting to 7.1 surround sound audio when I'm using desktop speakers. This is casuing distortion on many audio files when I go to play them. Anytime I switch it to another setup and click OK it defaults right back to 7.1. How can I force the speaker setup to stay configured to just desktop stereo speakers? Thanks!
cmonkedo
Do you have any 3rd party audio control panels installed? i.e. realtek sound manager or creative sound manager as this could be where your defaults are set.
defaultPlayer
The only 3rd party audio application installed on the system is the IDT Audio Control Panel since the motherboard is an Intel DX48BT2. This is probably what's causing the speaker setup to default to 7.1. I don't recall any options to change the speaker configuration in the IDT application.
