MSN Update Problems

Hi guys, I have just installed the newest version of Windows Live Messenger as I was prompted to, and now it's installed none of contacts come up, I have un installed it and have an older version but I want to know why it deletes my contact list when I update it, I updated it a long time ago and it deleted my contacts then so I was wondering is there was anything I could do to stop it from happening, as I really want to update it.

This happened to me once when I moved froma n old version to a newer one. Just export your contacts from the Contacts > Export option. (I think thast where it is). Then re-import them into the new one.

You will lose your groups if you have any set up.
