Major Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Hi, is there anyone please who knows the tweak for "Prevent programs from suggesting changes to my default search provider". I have tried to change it manually and see what are the changes in the register but without success. Thanks
PC_LOAD_LETTER Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 If it's any help to you, when you put a checkmark in the box next to:"prevent programs from suggesting changes to my default search provider"as described here:http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Win...bd6b31033.mspxAdding and removing that checkmark makes Binary Data changes in thefollowing Key:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\User Preferences"6256FFB019F8FDFBD36745B06F4540E9AEAF222A25"Type: REG_BINARYhttp://www.vistaheads.com/forums/microsoft...tml#post1206546add'tl info here:http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-...renceprotection
Major Posted September 12, 2009 Author Posted September 12, 2009 Thank you very much. I have tried it but without success because i have done the change then i have exported the key in the registry editor. But when i wanted to double click on the key exported it tells me:Can not import C:\... "Not all data was successfully written to the registry. Some keys are open by the system or other processes"
Major Posted September 19, 2009 Author Posted September 19, 2009 would anyone please to tell me how to fix what i described above. Thanks
