compressed files in $oem$\$1 get expanded automatically

Featured Replies

never noticed this behaviour before until today -

stuck a copy of the xp sp3 source files I386 directory into $oem$\$1\source

after setup completes, it has copied to c:\source correctly but it seems to have expanded any files that were in a compressed state

so on the source it is 546,941,474 bytes and on the destination it is now 1,034,816,478 bytes in size

I'd like it to copy over the files unaltered, can this behaviour be changed ?

thanks,

Em Kay

No idea if this is possible but maybe renaming workaround the issue, and then renaming again after copy.
