Office XP CMW creating multiple profiles

We have Office XP on Windows 2000 machines.

A CMW was applied to the office install that created an Outlook profile for the user. The option to modify was selected.

Due to various versions of this CMW based on differfent service packs and install sources re-doing the CMW is not an option.

The problem we are having is people are moving around and Outlook is creating them a fresh profile and renaming their old one to backup.

Is there any way of stopping Outlook from doing this?

Or even better is there a switch to remove the applied CMW from running? (I can just make it so it then only runs on new users who dont have a windows profile yet).
