AEN007
22August2009Greetings.I'm also trying to figure something out & hopeMSFN might point me in the direction of a solution. On one of my three XP laptops, Windows Explorer & xplorer² displaybitrate, duration & dimension info (correctly) for avi files.I'm not sure why this is so on only one of the XP laptops.Maybe someone might have some idea why these columnscan work properly in XP for avi files? I would like to tweakthe other two XP laptops, so they show that info for avi files too.Any helpful replies/insights appreciated.Thank you.Regards,AENÆ

eksasol
Try installing the same video codecs from the first labtop that display the bitrates correctly to the other two.

AEN007
17September2009Greetings.Thanks for the replies.I'm talking about the columns bitrate, duration & dimensions NOT the popup info.In any case I had already looked at the registry popup settings.I also use ABCavi which gives much better avi popup info.Lastly I am pleased to say I found the solution. Now the bitrate, duration & dimensions columns work for avi files in x² (& all file explorers).Regards,AENÆ

AEN007
2October2009Greetings.Thanks for asking ...I'm all for "information sharing"."Sharing" means that I would receive solutionsas well as post solutions that I've found. If one reviews my posting experience here @ MSFN,one would find that (with one small exception)I've never received any solutions here @ MSFN.I've solved numerous questions I've posted hereand elsewhere on the web on my own.If I post every solution I've found myself, then I would be giving everything and receiving nothing.Others would not agree, but I've found MSFN to be a most worthless forum.Thank you.Regards,AENÆ
