cluberti Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Open a (elevated, if UAC is enabled) command prompt, and run the following commands:bcdedit /enumbcdedit /set {current} description "<Whatever name you want here>"
felzio Posted August 19, 2009 Author Posted August 19, 2009 hmm.. thanx for the answers but what i am looking for is. how to change boot name when customizing the unattended. someone told me to edit bootstr.dll in system32 directory.but i can't edit it. it won't allow me. i used restorator and reshack. both won't allow me to edit. any idea?
cluberti Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 The lack of a response generally would mean no one knows (yet). If you're really anxious, ask Microsoft. Otherwise, figure it out for yourself and post it here to help others.A simple fix I can think of would be to have the command above run via a FirstLogonCommands script in the oobeSystem settings pass in your unattend, but if you want setup itself to do it via an edited .dll, you may be out of luck if you can't edit it.
