jerseylynch Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 my daughter came home from college and loaded her personal pictures on my computer. I can't delete any of them (Hundreds) because I get an error message that says "the selected file (F:\DCIM\101MSDCF\DSC00531.JPG) is located on removable disk media. Please insert the Media titled F:\ and click retry."The problem is I have no media and no way of getting it. How can I permanently delete these pictures from my computer running XP Home? 'Any help would be appreciated!
DigeratiPrime Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 It sounds like the photos are not actually on your computer. Where do you actually see the images, in windows explorer or some other program?
jerseylynch Posted August 11, 2009 Author Posted August 11, 2009 the images are on Microsoft Digital Image 06 library
DigeratiPrime Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I think the files are just preview thumbnails and not the full photos which actually take up space. However you should be able to remove the thumbnails since the media they are stored on was removed.Unfortunately it seems Microsoft Digital Imaging Suite was discontinuedhttp://www.microsoft.com/products/imaging/default.mspxAs long as you have XP SP2 or later you can install its free sucessor Windows Live Photo Galleryhttp://www.windowslive.com/Desktop/PhotoGallery
