EamonX1 Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I have a pdf document which I read using Adobe Reader 8. There are different fonts used in the document. Is there any way I can identify these different fonts (as I need to reproduce it in Word)? Does Adobe Reader have any Tool to do this? Or do I have to get Adobe Acrobat Pro 9? Or is there some way I can reconvert the document from pdf back into Word format?
GrofLuigi Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 In Reader: Ctrl-D (document properties) -> Fonts tab <- here you'll see fonts embedded in the document.(Might be different for 8, I have Acrobat (Adobe) Reader 7. But I don't think so.)To reproduce the document in Word:First, try (select the part that you want), copy, paste in Word. If it's a proper document (and additionally, if not protected), it'll work.If that doesn't work, try full Acrobat. Sometimes even that doesn't work, you'll have to OCR (with Abbyy, for example).GL
Jonnyboy82 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 There are also many free apps that can tell you all the info you need from a pdf file, so long as the pdf is properly formated and documented. Xpdf has several tools, including pdffonts.exe that will do what you need.
