ethanmcf Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Hi Guys, got a problem with my terminal server.i went from a Custom made machine which was working fine with Server 2003, and was all good. But i recently bought a Dell Poweredge 2550 Machine, and decided to use that as the Server, so stuck XP on custom machine and server 03 on the Dell.Set up Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, etc all fine, all goodthen installed Terminal server, and licencing. All was fine with that, now today, i tried to connect off a win 2000 client, and was told the connection cannot be made because there are no licence servers to obtain a licence from.So i went to the server to check, and when i open the Licence Manager, it tell me no Licence server could be found, so i right clicked on the tree and selected connect to computer, so i done that, and connected to the Host, then it found the Licence server and i didnt know what was wrongSo i tried to connect again, and once again, the same problem. So i uninstalled the Licencing from add/remove windows components, and then reinstalled, once again, that solved nothing.it has working on all other Test Servers ive made, but no i want to work on a dedicated server, it dont seem to want to.Also, another thing i noticed is that everything i reboot, there is no clock in the notification area, i can enable it, on taskbar properies, and it comes back, until i reboot, any help with this would be great, dont know whats causing the problemsThanks alotEthan
ethanmcf Posted July 17, 2009 Author Posted July 17, 2009 little update,it only seems to be Win 2000 Clients.XP Clients seem to connect ok.Thanks again.Ethan
bala04 Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Ethan,You could try hardwiring the TS license server on the TS, using... http://support.microsoft.com/kb/279561/TB
