Shared Folders Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just recently installed Windows XP using nLite and have came across a problem with sharing my folders through my Network. Basially I would like to share a folder from my PC upstairs (which has the nLite slipstreamed to XP SP3) with the computer downstairs which is connected to my TV (XP SP3).

I keep running into problems with it, as I can share from the downstairs PC to a Laptop running Vista no problem, but cannot get any shared folders from the nlite PC either on Desktop PC or Laptop. When I try to Map the Network drive I get the following Error "The network path \\[PC Name]\[share Name] could not be found". I have also tried with the IP of the computer as the server but to no avail, even when Pinging the IP through Command Prompt it times out.

I am just wondering if there is anything that I might have disabled in nLite that would cause this to happen, any help would be appreciated :)

aidzan, I use VMware Server to test my ISOs and it uses a virtual connection between the host and VM. I am able to share folders between the two machines with no problems. Please post a screen shot of your error and, attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
