lucianimago Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 (edited) Hello everybody,I am new to this forum but I have been using vlite for quite some time now. Lately I have stumbled upon a problem and I am sorry if this topic has been discussed already.I managed to get hold of vista ultimate on 5 cds and I wanted to create a single DVD using vLite. However, after I insert when requested each DVD when the image build is supposed to start I get the following error:Error while accessing image.- The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. The weird thing is that there is no other process accessing these files. I cannot figure it out and I would appreciate any help.On the cds it is written that it is Windows Vista Ultimate for Upgrade Use OnlyCan this be the problem? I wouldn't think so but I don't know for sure.Update: After I click ok a number of times in the error window I get a message with merging complete. But after I click ok on that too i get the initial vLite window where you can choose where the intalation files are located.Cheers,Lucian Edited June 12, 2009 by lucianimago
ripken204 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 (edited) i think you need to retail version..and ask a mod to move this to the vLite forum please. Edited June 12, 2009 by ripken204
cluberti Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Perhaps if we knew where you got the CDs we might be able to help.
MagicAndre1981 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 The 5 CD set of Vista RTM is available on technet
cluberti Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 True, but that set can just be copied into a folder and re-ISO'd via oscdimg. It's not the only CD set, and some of the OEM sets cannot be copied this way and still work on the other side.
MagicAndre1981 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 hmm, I've tried it with an earlier version of vLite and got errors and nuhi fixed this. But I've deleted the CD set and don't want to download it again to test why it fails.@lucianimago run ProcessMonitor in background and filter for vLite.exe and take at the the Result column and look for errors.
