office bug?

I open a doc in office 2003, I search for a term, then I close the file, but office asks me to save the... "changes"

what kind of changes did I make by searching for a term?

why it asks so?

Just say no.

I don't know for sure, but it's probably tracking user information, who accessed it... You can disable that in preferences, but it still makes changes (and in a very sneaky way - not modifying the file's date attribute; and even if you say no!).

There are programs to sanitize the embedded user information.
