exenter Posted May 26, 2009 Author Posted May 26, 2009 (edited) exenter, the fasttx2k.INF is a text mode driver. You need to tell us more about your hardware - VIA model, etc. I assume you are running a RAID. Is it attached to a SATA controller? Please post a screen shot of a Windows Explorer view of the RAID folder containing your VIAMRAID.INF file. Did you copy a txtsetup.oem file into this folder? If so, which one. I think the DLed VIA files are one of the most complex and hard to figure out I have seen. Good luck, John.I'm not running a RAID right know, so I don't actually need the promise drivers. The SATA controller is included with the VIA raid driver, so I need to install them. The VIA files with the txtsetup.oem are in the drvdisk folder. For XP they are in the NT5 folder (subfolder under drvdisk folder) Here is a screenshot of the files and txtsetup.oem i integrated on nlite: LINKI have the VT8237 Integrated Serial ATA RAID controller, which is also called VIA raid controller 3149 (I think). johnhc Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 exenter, I can't tell which txtsetup.oem file you are using. I see 3 kB and 1 kB files, but no 2 kB files like yours. Please try the attached file (found in txtsetup folder), if it is not the one you have tried before. Rename it to txtsetup.oem and replace the one in your folder with it. If you get a BSOD, please capture the Stop code and post it. Thanks, John.
exenter Posted May 27, 2009 Author Posted May 27, 2009 (edited) I used the proram DriverDiskPrep.exe to create a RAID setup disk in a floppy. And it created the same txtsetup.oem that you have in the attachments (I think). I integrated the driver and the XP installation was a success! Thank you johnc for not letting me give up! There are of course some minor problems: -The ATI graphics driver didn't install. (It is not digitally signed because I downloaded it from the sapphiretech website)-I selected "provide defaults" in the unattended mode option, but it never showed me the product key. -Two users was created: My own name and a user called OWNER? I never got an option to change this while installing. I didn't choose to skip OOBE, but it was skipped anyway for some reason...-The loading from the CD took a long time. 10 times longer than it did earlier. So the installation also took a long time to finish. Could this be because I selected the "burn directly" option? Should I choose to create an ISO-file instead and then burn the image to a CD?EDIT: Nevermind, I fixed all above problems.. Edited May 27, 2009 by exenter
johnhc Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 exenter, glad you are running! You are welcome. Have fun, John.
