AngelRayne Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 (edited) Because HP forgot to disable intelppm on HP PCs running on AMD, HP AMD users have a problem installing Windows XP SP3. Is it possible that I can patch the disk so that I won't have problems running it.Note: First attempt in making nLite disk.Link for patch: http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/windo...0x0000007E.html Edited April 24, 2009 by AngelRayne
g-force Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Welcome @ MSFN!As I know, the problem only occurs when a lower SP-Level than SP3 is installedand then upgraded to SP3 by installation. When you use nLite, you`ve got the chanceto integrate SP3, so a later installation of SP3 is not needed.
johnhc Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 AngelRayne, although I agree with g-force, I would go ahead and include KB953356. I seem to remember that others have had problems with this and nLite. I would also comment that as I understand this problem, it is an MS goof-up - releasing an Intel CPU driver in SP3 even on AMD processors. Please let us know what you learn so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
AngelRayne Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 Thanks guys! I'll try to add the patch in right away. =)
