advance Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 How to change installation directory of Yahoo Messenger 9 using silent install switch? I downloaded, ym9 offline installer and also downloaded web installer of ym, and i realized that only the web messenger has the option to change the installation directory of ym and it only downloads the offline installer into a temp file. Is it possible to change the installation directory from C: to D: using the offline installer? Thanks in advance
joe43wv Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 I don't see why you couldn't. I updated to 9 a couple of weeks ago, but didn't do it offline. I guess if anything download it straight to your D drive and see if it'll auto. pick up the D: drive to install upon. Not a gurantee it'll work but I have seen it done before.

Im installing an offline installer to a fresh installed Windows Xp OS. Installing / Upgrading offline installer to a XP which has the history of YM installation, automatically selects the path/directory where the old ym was installed. I just wanna know if how can i do the same idea. I tried adding registry to my WPI to automatically detect the location of YM to Drive D but it doesnt work on my WPI.
